Reaction to the reaction
"Hi Gela. This entry has associated a lot of sound and smell, and all are mostly in the Taft area. For a project or a thesis, you can revolve around the Taft aspect. Madaming possible topics kung mapag-uusapan ang Taft. Isa na ay ang culture sa Taft, another is the different schools within the area. It could either be a documentary or any medium of your choice. Thanks. :)"
That is what Yang wrote. At frist I thought that I would get a bad comment because I didn't think that my blog was good enough. Honestly, I was kind of shocked when I read her comment. It was good to see that someone found my blog entry to be err, useful. I can say that I was happy with her comment and I can also say that I am shocked, mixed emotions. She wrote that I can use it for a documentary, I was also thinking of the same thing. A documentary that shows the "life around Taft" is making me excited.

Seedbook 16: Ederlyn's Room
I followed her with my gaze. I tried to stalk her as much as I can. I tried to get as much info as I can. The first time I saw her, I thought she was already working and she was gonna leave the country to work in another country. I listened to their conversation(she was with someone).
And suddenly I was transported to her room.
Her bedroom walls are painted light pink. Her double sized bed is beside a window. Flowery, that's one word that can best describe her sheets. She has three large not so fluffy pillows.
She has a bedside table with books, school books. Her clothes are everywhere, hanged in a chair, in the her bedroom door, everywhere. Her cabinet is not really that big, she's trying to fit in everything her mom sends her from Italy. It's not really fixed in an OC kind of way.
She has a dresser with a large mirror, and there lies her lotion/s, perfume/s, facial products and other girl stuffs. In her mirror, she stuck a couple photos, one picture of her family, one picture of her with her friends, another picture of herself and other pictures. All her footwear are beside the dresser.
She has a radio, where she can listen to her favorite radio station every night.
Her room is not that big but also not too cramped, just exact.

Medyo pasigaw at mabilis siyang magsalita.

Seedbook 14: Fake Products Seized
I was there standing in the middle of the mall. I am just there, standing still, observing the people around me. At first I wasn't aware of what was happening, and then I realized that there was raid at the mall, err shopping center, the famous 168 mall in Divisoria.
The National Bureau of Investigation seized fake Lacoste products worth P89 million when it raided stalls in 168. Really? P89 million? Can you imagine how much Lacoste loses. They (NBI) seized twenty plus thousand pieces of assorted counterfeit products, including T-shirts and blouses, bearing the Lacoste trademark.
Unfortunately for me, I will not buy the handbag I was eyeing since last month, it's a Lacoste. I was really sad, but I still went inside to ask my suki and she told me that next week they'll have new stocks coming from China. Can't wait for next week! I'm gonna have my dream bag!

Seedbook 13: Moderate to Heavy
Oh my gawd naman the traffic here in the Metro. Kasi I was like in my work that time and then it started to make ulan and it was super lakas. I didn't have payong pa naman and I was like wearing skirt and heels. I really don't know how I will get home kasi I didn't bring my car, 'cause it's coding, so ayun, I have to commute.
When I went out of the office, I wasn't shocked to see that the road was baha. And the baha looks so icky talaga. I didn't want to make lusong in the baha so I just rode a pedicab and I paid 20 pesos. So sayang talaga the 20 pesos. Good thing I saw an fx agad. But gosh! I took me like 100 years to get home. It was so traffic in EDSA, I thought that I will sleep in the fx na, because it's really so tagal you know.
The government should really do something about the baha. It's such a hassle. tsk.

Seedbook 12: One Weird Requirement
Woah! I can't believe it, now, even the bicycle riders should wear helmets. I can't believe it! I do not know why the MMDA should require us riders of bicycle wear helmets. MMDA chairman Bayani Fernando ordered MMDA traffic aides to flag down bicycle riders who do not wear helmets.
Not all bicycles are that fast, that they need to require helmets. And how can bicycle riders not use the main road when there is no allotted lane for us bicycle riders. This is a one weird requirement.

Seedbook 11: Bakit Ngayon Pa Ako Nastranded?
Naaalala niyo yung MV Princess of the Stars? Nakakatakot yung nangyari dun no?

Seedbook 10: Village chief, another shot dead in Masbate town
Last Friday night, I was inside our kubo, sitting beside the window when I saw armed men. I was just waiting to fall asleep at that time and I thought of sitting there to feel the fresh air. At first I thought that what I saw were military officers but then I realized that they were not wearing uniforms. They are New People's Army members, I thought and immediately I closed my window and turned off all the lights.
After a few minutes I heard gun shots, I said my prayers and asked God to protect me and my family. I thought it was the end of my life here on earth. And then the shooting stopped for a couple of minutes, then the members of NPA were firing again.
The next morning, the civil military operations officer of the 901st Infantry Battalion was there. Mang Wennifredo (Baybay), he is our village cheif, was the one of the victims killed last night, another civilian was also killed. The slain civilian is still unknown, he is not my neighbor and he doesn't live in our barangay so nobody knows him.
I hope the military would do their best in order to get the suspects behind bars. It's sad that one of the good people here in our barangay has to die. I also feel sorry to the civilian who was slain.

Seedbook 9: Thy Prices Shall Fall
This is such a funny post. Actually weird din. hahaha this is an entry for my concept class. my "role" here is fictitious...................................................................................................
Since my global price have plunged dramatically in reaction to the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, Merill Lynch and the American International Organization, more and more oil companies here in the Philippines are having price rollbacks.
The three big oil companies here in the Philippines will have a P1 roll back to their prices of me, while the smaller oil players will lessen my price by 50 centavos again. Isn't that a great news?

Seedbook 8: Bad Guys are Recruiting Minors
The MILF and NPA are recruiting minors into their minors. As a leader of this country, I will personally bring up this complaint to the UN body when I attend the UN General Assembly on September 23 in the United States.
The Commission on Human Rights had said that it would deploy a team to Mindanao to verify reports that the MILF has been shoring up the youth’s support in the rebel group’s armed movement. Other concerned members of the citizenry are open to getting in touch with the MILF to verify the authenticity of the report.
In my US visit, I will hold bilateral meetings in New York and report to the UN the country’s compliance to the eighth international development objectives.
I will also meet with the Organization of Islamic Conference to present the government’s “new peace strategy,” following after the stalling of the signing of a domain agreement with the MILF.
I personally flew to Mindanao last Thursday to personally hand out incentives to some 500 soldiers deployed in Lanao del Norte to boost their moral while hunting down wanted MILF leaders.
Aside from distributing P300 cell phone loads to each soldier, I also gave out: P1 million for college education of the soldiers’ children, and P1 million for the soldiers’ parents.
I am so sad with what’s happening. I will try to fix this one, I’ll do my best to get the minors out of this.

Seedbook 7: Friends
As we were walking towards that place, I remembered the times when me and another friend of mine used to spend our Thursday afternoons there. We would hang out there and eat and wait for another friend of ours. We would just stay there and talk about our classes, the things we will do in our P.E class and other things. Sometimes we would just sit there and use my friend's laptop and play Spongebob Collapse (I'm so lame at this game!) or Luxor or Insaniquarium. My friend would even shout (that's her way of motivating me. haha) at me while playing Luxor because the marble was mismatched or she would tease me because I didn't pop all the bubbles in Spongebob Collapse, while our other friend would just be sitting there and laughing at us.
They would make fun of me because I am so lame at playing those games and then the next few minutes we would be teasing my friend, the girl, to our P.E classmate and then after that we would be talking about nonsense things. Then we would be thinking of not attending our P.E class because we don't feel like attending or because we want to watch a basketball training/game. It was really fun hanging out with them.
It was just a few months ago but it seemed so long ago already. I want those times to happen again. Because of that simple place, I gained friends and also gained memories. I think I should tell my friends that we should hang out there again, just to relive the memories. It would be nice to stay in that little corner and just laugh at each others antics and also while consoling each other while ranting about how the time for our P.E class is very late. I miss those times.

Course Prepared by: Miguel Lizada
Course Instructor: TBA
Course Description
The course introduces the student-cheerer to the dynamics and principles of the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry. The course employs both theoretical and application dimensions. Course Requirements
Written Long Test: This will assess your memorization of the tradition and history of the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry. The test consists of itemized Multiple Choice questions and True or False statements.
Oral Exam: The student will randomly draw two cheers from a lot. The student must cheer/sing the cheers he picked. Afterwards, he must be able to explain the significance of the cheer/song. He must also be able to identify when these cheers/songs are used.
Practical Exam: The student must line up for tickets. This is a pass or fail exam. If the student is able to acquire a ticket, he automatically gets an A. If he doesn't get any ticket, he must take the Make-Up Test.
Make-up Test: Negotiating with Scalpers. Students who wish to pass the first practical exam for the course but failed to do so must take the Make-Up test. The student must locate a scalper within the vicinity of Araneta Coliseum. This is not a pass or fail test. The student's grade depends on how he was able to acquire a good ticket with the lowest possible price. The better the ticket with lower ticket price, the higher the grade.
Final Exam: Students are required to cheer during the game. The grade depends on the voice quality and frequency of the cheering. The Ateneo standard grading system will be applied. Therefore the passing score for the Final Exam is 70%. Students who cannot stand up and cheer 70% of the time automatically fail the exam.
Bonus points are given to students who are able to convince others to cheer loudly, either through a well-articulated speech or forceful coercion. Extra points are also awarded to fans who make creative banners for their favorite players.
Written Long Test: 20%
Oral Exam: 20%
Practical Exam: 20%
Final Exam: 40%
Course Policies and Other Reminders
1. Plagiarism. Plagiarism is an extreme offense in this school. Do not copy cheers from other schools.
2. Cellphone Use. Using your cellphone to place in bets is illegal. Do not get yourself into trouble.
3. Cuts. Once you are inside Araneta, you are not allowed to leave. You must watch all four quarters. Win or lose, you are not allowed to leave before the Song for Mary is sung. Doing so merits an automatic W for the course.

Seedbook 6: Childhood Memories
When I was a kid, almost every weekend we were in Pampanga. And I can clearly remember that me and my cousins loved eating scramble. Before, everytime I see the scramble vendor while I was playing on the streets, I would run inside the house and ask for money so that I could buy scramble, even my cousins do that! I miss being a kid, I miss going to Pampanga every week and I miss all everything me and my cousins do.
Don't you miss being a kid? Don't you miss being spoiled by your parents or older siblings or older cousins or your grandparents or your titos and titas. I just miss everything. :) I wish I could turn back time. :p

L.A and Gelo
hahaha may pagkakahawig sila. YES! I am making fun of my brother and he knows it, so it's sort of fine. hahaha natutuwa lang ako sa kapatid ko at kay LA. hahaha
ang sama kong ate! amp! hahaha :p
Seedbook 5: The Evil
DOTA for me is the cause of everything negative. Way back in high school almost all of my guy friends played DOTA. And almost all of my girl friends are crying because of this evil game. They are crying because their boyfriends didn't have time for them, their boyfriends were busy playing DOTA. I even remember a really close friend of mine dragging me to a computer shop because her boyfriend was there, I have seen her cry a lot of times because of that game. I also know a few relationships end because of this game.
And now I wonder, why is DOTA so addicting, that it causes negative things to happen. hmmm.

Seedbook 4: Foodtrip
The smell of the place reminded me my birthday last June. The food reminded me of the time when almost all of my friends were there to celebrate with me. Who would forget all the laughter and (senseless) talks we've shared. It was nice to go back to those memories. I wish that that moment would happen again. :)
** I think my post today is not as good as my posts before. It's kind of senseless. hahaha

Seedbook 3: The Game
Then I remembred the first time I watched a championship game. It was last year; UE and DLSU were battling for the championship crown. My friends and I watched it live in Araneta. It's really fun watching a baskeball game especially if it's live. There is something with the intensity of the game and the adrenalin of the crowd that makes you want to watch more live games. It's really different when you watch the game live and if you just watch it on TV. When you watch it live, you can cheer your lungs out without anybody scolding you, you would feel the disappointment of the crowd, especially the alumni, when one player doesn't do well, the pride on your part if your team wins. Unlike when you're just watching on TV, you can't do the cheering without people telling to cut it out because you're starting to become like a crazy baboon, you can't sing the hymn because you would end up as laughing stock in your family and some other things.
All of a sudden I recalled that there will be a game tomorrow between DLSU and FEU (again!) and I am totally disappointed because I can't watch it live. I hope the Archers win and the FEU crowd will stop being so pathetic by chanting "Luto!" tomorrow ad I also hope that FEU realize that they lost Thursday's game because of their turnovers and not because some DLSU people paid the referee. While typing the last part, I remembered that in last year's championship game, the UE crowd also started chanting "Luto!" when they realized taht DLSU would win the most coveted crown in the UAAP. I hope tomorrow's game will be clean and fair, I hope there would be no bad calls, I also hope that the green and gold side doesn't get so pumped-up cheering "Luto!" IF EVER DLSU wins tomorrows game, PEACE! ;p And lastly I really hope that I can watch another live game before this season is over. :)

Seedbook 2: Flashbacks
I tried to close my but I realized that I would look stupid. I would look like a weirdo who's closing her eyes in public as if something is err, bothering me. I didn't really want to catch too much attention so I sat there quietly, observing my surroundings.
The sound of splashing water, the sound of cars passing by, the sound of the college students' 'takongs' while they were walking and the sound of students happily chattering were slowly becoming music to my ears. These sounds are overwhelming. Then I remembered the time when I was still part of that school, when I was also one of the students laughing while telling my friends about foolish things. I started to miss my former school. Somewhat I wish that I am still part of this institution. I suddenly missed high school, I envied those high school students then I remembered that two years ago I was wearing the same uniform, walking the halls of our building and I was surrounded with my high school buddies. Flashback, flashback, flashback. I just love how few things can make you remember your high school memories.
Suddenly it became quiet and all I could hear is the sound of water splashing against stone floor. I felt that none of my friends are coming because they are in their respective classes and I was getting bored sitting there alone. I realized, it was now time for me to leave.

Seedbook 1: A train of thoughts
Taft is different when you bother to observe it. Your view about Taft would change when you observe at it carefully. You would hear different sounds, you would smell different scents and it would remind you about different things. As I was walking along the sidewalks of Taft, my mind was slowly being engrossed by the things I am hearing. I tried to concentrate on the weird smells of Taft but I was unsuccessful in doing so.
The sounds of Taft was really amusing, amazing at times. Some people might think I am crazy for saying these but the hell I care? Yes for me it is amazing. It reminded me of the documentaries about different countries, most especially about India. I think it was a show in Discovery Travel and Living (or was it Discovery Channel?) where I heard the sounds of India. The blowing of horns, the sound of people chattering, the sound of footsteps. And now I badly wanna go to India to feel it. :p
Smelly Taft. Taft is so polluted that there is hardly any other scent you can smell aside from the the smell of the smoke from jeepneys (don't you just hate smoke belchers?) and cigarettes, the two main causes of lung cancer. Well, I smelled the scent coming from McDonald's, you know cheeseburgers and fried chickens. And then I suddenly remembered how I used love McDonald's as a kid. Then it hit me, I am not really that fond of McDonald's anymore, I am so used to eating there that I am starting to hate it. In high school I usually ate at McDonald's when we were given a chance to eat outside the campus. Don't you just love the smell of their cheeseburgers and fries, oh and don't forget their yummy McFloat (which I haven't drank for almost a year now. abstinence! :p)? Another thing I remembered when I smelled the scent coming from McDonald's was the chicken in one of the certain eatery near our school, I really liked it for its err, unique sauce (and just now I am craving for this). To my high school friends, don't you just love Lopez for their yummy chicken? :)
So why is my paragraph about the smells of Taft (this made me laugh) longer than the sounds of Taft when I said above that I was unsuccessful in trying to figure out the stench of Taft.
When I rode the FX, all the sounds and the smell vanished. I was still thinking about my yummy chicken and about India while I was sitting comfortably inside. And now I wonder, would I still see Taft like this or would it just be the same as before?
And now I just lost my train of thoughts.

JUST MY TWO CENTS
I watched the cheerdance earlier, DLSU was the first one to perform. I was not thrilled to see them performing. HONESTLY, i don't like the DLSU pep squad. They are not that good if you compare them to the UST Salinggawi or UP Pep Squad. I know it's kind of rude to compare them with those two powerhouse squads, but duh! they're like the best cheering squads in town, so sometimes you just can't help but wish that your school's pep squad is as good as those two. hahaha There's something missing with the performance of my dear Alma Mater and they still have a long way to go before they can be as good as UP and UST. Tsk. this is not a good attitude towards my school's pep but so what, i am just being brutally honest!
I really wanted UST to win, to be the champions. But unfortunately, they just landed first place. I was rooting for them to win not only because UST is where i came from but also because they were good. I got kind of disappointed when UP won. hahaha But anyway, congratulations to the UP Pep Squad for doing a great job.
Hmm, DLSU lost to ADMU and it sucks! I hate ADMU! But congrats to ADMU, they played a good game. It's super weird because when i transferred to DLSU, UAAP basketball became such a big deal to me. You know, i think you get what i mean. hehehe I am hoping to see BIG imporovements on our big men, especially PJ Walsham. Ferdinand's improving and i give him two thumbs up for that. For me giving PJ minutes on court is like wasting time. He's kind of useless and lame on court. He's so big but he can't even help in getting rebounds. There is something wrong with DLSU players. They're just depending on three or four player. All of them should work! I think FEU's lost made them slack off. Whatever! They have to work harder. BUT I still believe in them. I'd still rally behind my dear archers. Let's kick FEU's butt on Thursday. :p
Somebody posted this in Pinoyechange: "A loss is easy to accept but seeing how we did was rather disappointing. Seeing JVee really struggle made it worse.
Nonetheless, I still believe we can do it. Not with much conviction maybe but I definitely remain optimistic."
Yes! We have to remain optimistic. I know we still have a shot to that most coveted crown in the uaap. KEEP THE FAITH! ANIMO LA SALLE!
This was supposedly a blog about my first term SY: 08-09 in DLSU but my heart is still aching to the archer's lost. This blog contains my frustrations about the DLSU Pep Squad's performance, my sadness in UST Gawi's lose to the UP Pep Squad and to my SORROW/MISERY/DEPRESSION/GLOOM/GRIEF(put all the synonyms of sadness here) to the lose of DLSU Green Archers to the ADMU Blue Eagles. I really, REALLY want to see an ADMU-DLSU finals. And i think everyone's hoping the same. The Archers should shot down the birdies from katipunan. hahaha And we should paint the town green! :))

You're Confessions!
by St. Augustine
You're a sinner, you're a saint, you do not feel ashamed. Well, you might feel a little ashamed of your past, but it did such a good job of teaching you what not to do. Now you've become a devout Christian and have spent more time ruminating on the world to come rather than worldly pleasures. Your realizations and ability to change will bring reverence upon you despite your hedonistic transgressions. Florida will honor you most in the end.
